The team of Sachin Sarcoma Society organised it’s first major event Sphoorti – A Sarcoma Education Program held on 7th April, 2018 which focused especially on patients and caregivers to make them aware about the in’s and out’s of sarcoma and it’s effects.
Our program was hosted at Hotel C.L. House, Yusuf Sarai who gave this venue free of cost to support this wonderful initiative and we are really thankful to Mr. C.L. Gupta for his immense support. The event was started with the welcome speech by the president of Sachin Sarcoma Society Mrs. Rashi Kapoor in which she invited and greeted our chief guest, doctors, patients and caregivers. A Yoga session was held to make people aware of the paramount benefits of Yoga and how can we incorporate it in our daily lives. Sarcoma is really evident in young children and teenagers, so to boost their morale we conducted a drawing competition so that young children will get inspired by the beauty they possess.
Chief guest of our event was Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj, MLA of AAP Party who shed some light on this disease and promised the public to help people in this regard as much as possible.
Followed by the crux of the event i.e. panel discussion with experienced and highly educated doctors. Our panel consisted of six doctors from different domain to answer a variety of questions of patients
1. Dr. Sameer Rastogi – Medical Oncologist
2. Dr. Indu Bansal – Radiation Oncologist
3. Dr. Ekta Dhamija – Radiologist
4. Dr. Aditi Aggarwal – Radiation Oncologist
5. Dr. Ankita Dhondiyal – Dietician
6. Dr. Adarsh Barwad – Pathologist
The panel answered questions which arise in every patient’s mind when struggling from sarcoma and the type of questions and their answers were really good and appreciable.
This was followed by prize distribution to the children for their commendable efforts and imagination that they put forth in their drawing sheet and the first prize was won by Ms. Sabina who sketched this beautiful, ravishing painting with effortless message. Hat’s Off to Ms. Sabina!!!
Finally, we concluded our event by greeting our panel of doctors with a token of gratitude and further we had a networking session with everyone present. All in all, it was an event to be remembered and to take away a lot of information that we all were unaware of.
Thanks a lot to everyone present in the event 🙂
